Boysen Reservoir

Boysen Reservoir is a man-made lake located in the central part of the state of Wyoming, United States. It is situated in Wind River Canyon and is formed by the Boysen Dam on the Wind River. The reservoir has a surface area of about 19,500 acres and a maximum depth of about 220 feet. It is a popular destination for fishing, boating, camping, and other outdoor activities. The reservoir was created by the construction of Boysen Dam in the 1940s and 1950s. The dam is 221 feet high and 1,795 feet long, and was built primarily for flood control and irrigation purposes. Today, Boysen Reservoir is managed by the Wyoming Game and Fish Department and is known for its excellent fishing opportunities, particularly for walleye and trout. The reservoir also offers camping, hiking, and boating activities, and is surrounded by scenic views of the Wind River Mountains.
